We get on a plane for New York on June 16th. We've been waiting for this day for 8 months! After an overnight layover in New York we can FINALLY go to Ukraine to try and adopt Andry, Olya's 13 year old brother. We talked to him today. He sounds very excited to see us. Every time we've talked to him on our Sunday calls he asks, "When are you coming for me?" It's great to finally have an exact date to tell him. The adoption process in Ukraine will probably take 3-5 weeks. Our adoption facilitator, who talked to the director of Andry's school, gave us good news. The director will allow Andry to stay with us in our Kiev apartment. The many weeks wait in Ukraine will be special if Andry can stay with all of us: Ron, Olya, my parents and me. (Three and a half years ago, when we adopted Olya, we could only visit her at her school two hours a day.)
